Page Flip Effect in .iba[edit]
Hi,
Apple released iBooks Author on January 19, 2012 at an education-focused special event in New York City. Simultaneously, Apple also released iBooks 2 and a new iBooks Bookstore category for textbooks. Although Apple offered it for free download in the Mac App Store, it was proprietary and only available for macOS before its discontinuation in 2020. Kindle (MOBI) Word. Web (HTML5) App. Desktop Win/Mac App. Windows Phone App. SCORM 1.2 Package. SCORM 2004 Package. Progressive Web App (PWA) Host Directly Online. Interactive content::: DRM: Provided only by iBooks Store: Multiple types (depends on export format) LMS Integration.
Can any one let me know that, is there any possibilities to make page flip effect in iBooks Author? just like ePub works. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alishalim (talk • contribs) 07:37, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
Out of date[edit]
This page is out of date - request permission to update the page with info related to the new updates to iBooks Author that have been released but aren't listed here, as well as the iBooks Author Conference which just took place. BMetrock (talk) 16:28, 21 October 2015 (UTC)BMetrock
- You'll be able to do so yourself. It looks like your account will be automatically confirmed in a few hours. You need 4 days and 10 edits. You have the 10 edits, and 4 days have elapsed, or nearly so. ~Amatulić(talk) 19:56, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- OK, great, thanks. Made the proposed edits as stated and will keep an eye on the page to add version 2.5 information once that comes out, or to add any major articles written about the software. BMetrock (talk) 04:54, 23 October 2015 (UTC)BMetrock
- upper right summary box still lists old version rather than 2.5 released 2016-08-20. would update it myself, but only recently registered for full access. Jmichael2497 (talk) 21:08, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Someone please fix:[edit]
Misleading initial sentence. (because Versions 2.3 and later of iBooks Author support importing EPUB and exporting EPUB 3.0. [1])--50.201.195.170 (talk) 16:51, October 2019

- The sentence isn't misleading; introducing their own format was a key feature of iBooks Author that was highlighted in multiple reviews. The body of the article mentions that an update introduced EPUB compatibility, but that detail doesn't seem relevant enough for the lead. Huon (talk) 23:42, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
No, 'iBooks Author (iBA) is an e-book authoring application by Apple Inc. Still supported[edit]
Please someone update the version number of this app. Its currently 2.6.1 (released in 2018) but the article still shows it at 2.4.— Preceding unsigned comment NOT added by 50.201.195.170 (talk) 16:51, 30 October 2019. (UTC)--Special:Contributions/2001:e68:5434:fb33:e0e7:6681:b48c:dd29 29 Oct.
- By turning this back into a help-me request, you've effectively ensured that it will be treated as a 'not done' edit request. Providing a reference that is not Apple talking about its own product is probably a requirement before an independent editor will consider doing anything. — jmcgnh(talk)(contribs) 17:23, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- I disagree, in particular, I stand by my edit summary. When it comes to removing/correcting a misleading statement, you should be wrong. Also, the attribution you added above was false. --50.201.195.170 (talk) 18:53, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

If you need to update the content of your book, you’ll need to submit an updated book file. The process of updating your book file is called book versioning. When you submit a new version of your book with an updated book file, customers who purchased your book will automatically be notified if the book is in their Library. They will see the release notes you included in the metadata, informing them what’s new in the updated book file. If they choose to download the new version, it will overwrite the previous book in their Library.
After you submit a new version of your book, you cannot revert to the previous version on Apple Books. If you need to make corrections, you must submit a new version.
Additional information regarding versioning can be found in the Apple Books Asset Guide.
The easiest way to submit a new version of your book depends on how your book was created:
- If you created your book in Pages or iBooks Author, you can make changes to your files and resubmit from within the app.
- If you used another book creation tool, use it to make your changes and resubmit the book through iTunes Producer or the Apple Books Publishing Portal.
Note: Book creation is moving to Pages. As of July 1, 2020, iBooks Author will no longer be available to new users. iBooks Author can still be used on macOS 10.15 and earlier, but there will be no new updates. Learn more.
How to update book files with iTunes Producer
- Search for your book in the Search iTunes Connect field. Do not use Open Recent.
- Make your updates.
- For cover art, book file, or screenshot updates, select the file you’re updating and press Delete. Drag the new file in to the field.
- Confirm that the metadata and pricing panes reflect the correct information.
- Save changes.
- Click Submit.
If you're updating the book file, enter text in the “What's New in This Version” field, found on the Details pane. What you enter here appears on Apple Books, so customers can see what updates were made.
How to update book files with iBooks Author
If you created your book in iBooks Author, you should make and submit your updates with iBooks Author as well.
- Open iBooks Author and make the updates to your book.
- Click Publish in the header, or choose Publish from the File menu.
- Follow the instructions until you reach Add Version Info.
- Select “This is an update to a previously published book” and click Continue.
- Select the current version of the book you're updating and enter a new version number. Version numbers should be a decimal-separated number. Be sure to:
- List a maximum of two decimals, three components, and four numbers per component. For example: 1111.1111.1111
- Avoid initial zeros. We interpret 1.01 as 1.1.
- Keep your versions in numerical order. We consider 1.10 as the next — or updated — version of its 1.9 predecessor.
- Avoid letters, hyphens, underscores, or other invalid characters.
- Click Continue and follow the instructions.

- On the same screen, you will see a new version number. You can leave this as is or edit it it to a version number of your choice. Version numbers should be a decimal-separated number, like versions 1.0 and 2.0.
- Confirm that the metadata for your book is correct.
